MOISSONNIER: the art of tailor made and special order.

Moissonnier will be meeting with professionals from the interior design sector at the ICFF Fair in New York between 21 and 24 May 2017. The very popular landmark event in the high-end luxury furniture sector, the fair is an opportunity for Moissonnier to promote its cabinet-making know-how and capacity to produce unique pieces for
personalised interior design projects. The embodiment of French expertise and art of living, the firm has chosen to impress visitors with a reinterpretation of its classic designs, presenting its iconic model – the L.XV chest-of-drawers – in three different versions. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the expertise of its craftsmen and the unique pieces they produce.

In stripped wood with oxidised bronzes, the firm’s emblematic piece reveals the full beauty of its shape, combined with a certain simplicity. It becomes unique through its Ming porcelain-inspired, hand-painted decoration, set off by bronzes decorated with silver leaf.

Moissonnier goes even further by presenting the chest-of-drawers in a version incorporating a sink, for a refined bathroom. This piece is adorned with a marble sinktop and Grand Central taps designed by Timothy Corrigan for THG Paris.

Based in Bourg-en-Bresse since 1885, Moissonnier is an example of tradition and innovation in French furniture making. A leading name in high-end interior design, the factory, which produces all of its collection in France, has invented a unique style at the intersection of historic references and aesthetic innovation.

The first brand to have dared to explore colour and prints on traditional furniture designs, Moissonnier is a tireless pioneer in its search for new patina textures, the use of striking fabrics, as well as an updating for contemporary tastes of forgotten styles unearthed in flea markets and second-hand shops. Its founder, Emile Moissonnier, a leading light in the craft and design movement, continues to inspire the firm’s descendants and infuse them with his creative energy. Each season the firm designs exceptional pieces with a strong image, and hand-painted decoration by Caroline Moissonnier (the fourth generation of the family).

Moissonnier also has a design office responsible for answering all specific requests, making the expertise of its workshops and its teams available to its customers, to create interior design projects based on the French art of living. Building on its strengths – the launch of collections every year, the ability to customize the finishing touches of its models and produce special bespoke creations, Moissonnier is now the favoured partner of international specifiers and the luxury hotel industry.
